Privacy Policy

PlayCompete. Last updated: September 6, 2026

Your privacy is important to us

Your privacy matters to us, and safeguarding your personal information is a responsibility we take seriously. This Policy applies to everyone who uses PlayCompete and our services, as well as to any information shared with us. By using our website, you consent to the practices described here.

This Policy forms part of our Terms of Use. Whenever you use any of PlayCompete's services, you agree to both this Policy and our Terms of Use.

1. Who We Are

Dirty Feet Productions dba PlayCompete ("PlayCompete," "we," "us," or "our") operates the PlayCompete Sports Operating System, a platform that helps sports leagues and event organizers manage registrations, schedules, standings, and communications. Our platform is accessible at this website and any league sub-pages powered by it.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly, including:

  • Account information: name, email address, and password when you create an account.
  • Registration information: details you submit when registering for a league or event (such as phone number, date of birth, emergency contact, skill level, or waiver agreement), as required by the specific league.
  • Payment information: if you pay online, payment processing is handled by our payment processor; we do not store full card numbers.
  • Communications: messages you send to league administrators through our contact forms.
  • Server logs: standard web-server records of pages requested, browser type, and IP address, kept for security and troubleshooting.
  • How you found us: if you arrive from a link with campaign tags in the address (utm_source and similar), or from another website, we record that and keep it with your registration so an organizer can tell which of their announcements brought people in. It is stored on our own servers against your visit, not in a file on your device, and it is not shared with anyone.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To create and manage your account and league registrations.
  • To communicate with you about registrations, schedules, standings, and league updates.
  • To send transactional emails (confirmation, schedule changes, notifications) related to leagues you are enrolled in.
  • To improve and operate the PlayCompete platform.
  • To comply with legal obligations.
  • To offer products and services that may be of interest to you.

4. Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information with:

  • League administrators: your registration details are visible to the administrators of leagues you have joined so they can manage rosters, schedules, and communications.
  • Event administrators: your registration details are visible to the administrators of events you have signed up for so they can manage your registration and communications.
  • Service providers: third-party vendors who help us operate the platform (e.g., hosting, email delivery, payment processing), bound by confidentiality agreements.
  • Legal requirements: when required by law or to protect rights, property, or safety.

You have the option to:

  • Withhold personal information, though doing so may prevent you from accessing certain services or using certain features of our website;
  • Opt out of promotional emails or newsletters by unsubscribing or by submitting a request through the form linked at the bottom of this policy;
  • Decline or remove cookies by adjusting your browser settings, though this may cause some features or services of our website to work improperly;
  • Review, update and manage your personal information by contacting us or, if you have a PlayCompete account on our website, by logging into your account;
  • Disconnect any third-party device, application, or platform linked to your PlayCompete account at any time through your account settings.

5. Text Messages (SMS)

Some event, league, and tournament organizers use PlayCompete to send text-message announcements about an event you have registered for — for example a schedule change, a venue or field change, a delay, a cancellation, or a safety notice. You opt in by ticking the text-message box on the registration form, and your consent is recorded with the date you gave it.

We do not sell, rent, or share mobile phone numbers or SMS consent with any third party for their own marketing purposes. Mobile numbers are shared only with the messaging provider that delivers the message on our behalf, and with the organizer of the event you registered for. No mobile information is shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

Message frequency: messages are sent only when an organizer has something urgent to tell you, so volume varies by event. In practice this is typically no more than a handful of messages around the days of an event, and many events send none at all. These are informational messages, not marketing.

Message and data rates may apply. PlayCompete does not charge you for text messages; your mobile carrier's standard rates apply.

How to stop: every message ends with “Reply STOP to opt out.” Reply STOP (or UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, or QUIT) and you will not receive further text messages from any organizer on PlayCompete. Reply START to resume. Reply HELP for assistance, or use the contact options at the end of this policy. Opting out of text messages does not affect your registration, and does not stop transactional email such as confirmations and receipts.

6. Cookies and Browser Storage

We run no advertising, analytics or tracking of any kind. There is no Google Analytics, no advertising pixel, and no third-party tracker anywhere on this site. Nothing we store is used to build a profile of you or shared with an advertiser.

What we do store is limited to making the site work and remembering what you asked for. In full:

  • A session cookie — keeps you signed in as you move between pages, and expires when your session ends. Without it you would have to sign in on every page.
  • A security token — a cookie that lets us verify a form was submitted from our own site and not by someone else on your behalf.
  • Your own preferences, stored in your browser — whether the admin menu is collapsed, light or dark appearance, which view you last used on a tournament page, and any teams you have chosen to follow. These stay on your device and are never sent to us.
  • Race-timing data, stored in your browser — if you are timing a race, finish times are saved on your device first so nothing is lost when the signal drops, then sent to us when it returns.
  • Push notifications — only if you switch them on yourself. You can turn them off in the same place, or in your browser settings.

Because none of this is used for advertising or tracking, we do not show a cookie consent banner. You can clear or block cookies and site data in your browser settings at any time; doing so will sign you out and reset the preferences above.

6a. Third Parties in Your Browser

We deliberately keep these to a minimum, so that visiting a page does not quietly send your details to companies you have never heard of.

  • Fonts are served from our own servers. Many sites load fonts from Google, which sends your IP address to Google on every page. We host ours ourselves so that does not happen.
  • Payments are handled by Stripe. When you pay, you are taken to Stripe's own checkout page and return here afterwards. Stripe processes your card details under their own privacy policy; we never see or store your full card number. No Stripe code runs on our pages while you are simply browsing.
  • Email and text messages are delivered through service providers acting on our behalf, using only the address or number needed to deliver the message.

7. Data Retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. Registration records may be retained for a reasonable period for record-keeping purposes.

8. Your Rights

You may request to access, correct, or delete your personal information by contacting us. To close your account or request data deletion, please reach out through the contact options on this website.

9. Children's Privacy

Our platform may be used to register minors for youth sports leagues. Registration for minors must be completed by a parent or legal guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 without parental consent.

10. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your personal information. However, no internet transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy periodically. When we do, we will revise the "last updated" date at the top. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

12. Contact Us

If you have questions about this privacy policy, please contact us through the PlayCompete website.
